Bottling Giant Chooses Louisiana - Invests $160 Million
Niagara Bottling, a leading beverage manufacturer in the United States, has announced plans to invest $160 million to build a state-of-the-art production facility near Hammond, Louisiana. The facility will feature advanced technology and equipment to increase production efficiency and meet growing demand. The company will create 70 new direct jobs with an average salary of $55,000, and Louisiana Economic Development estimates that the project will also result in 100 additional indirect jobs for a total of 170 new jobs in the Southeast region of the state.
The Tangipahoa Parish facility will be Niagara’s first location in Louisiana, and the company chose the state over competing locations. The facility will be 500,000 square feet and is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2023.
The state of Louisiana offered a competitive incentive package to secure the project, including a $750,000 award through the Economic Development Award Program and participation in the Quality Jobs and Industrial Tax Exemption programs.
“Niagara Bottling is grounded in principles that put strong business and community relationships first, and we look forward to deepening our connection with Tangipahoa Parish through the establishment of this facility,” said Niagara Bottling Executive Vice President Brian Hess. “Louisiana has a rich beverage manufacturing history, and Tangipahoa Parish stood out as a highly attractive partner for this project thanks to a combination of location, logistical support and potential workforce.”
The facility will help grow Louisiana’s food and beverage industry and strengthen the state’s manufacturing sector. “In Tangipahoa Parish we work hard to grow our advanced manufacturing industry,” said Tangipahoa Parish President Robby Miller. “We know this project will enhance Tangipahoa’s economic landscape and in turn, benefit everyone in this region.”
